organize.

Organizing is a craft.
Like with any craft, there are fundamental skills & concepts you need to know to do 'the thing'. In this small book we spell out the fundamentals that have been essential to us.

Think of it like the ‘little black book’ of organizing.

Every organizer* should experience the electric feeling of a growing base, the pride of helping leaders develop in ways they never imagined, and the joy of winning on issues chosen by people in the community. This kind of organizing builds organizations that go into the next, bigger fight, with more confidence, skills, relationships, and power.

About Us

  • We are organizers who love the craft. Over and over we experience how when we practice the fundamentals, lots of new people get involved, take action they never imagined, build power, and win. Along the way people’s sense of self and what is possible grows. Each day we work to practice, model, teach, and preach the fundamentals of good organizing.

  • The fact that most of us don’t know how to organize is not an accident, it’s by design. But once you learn the fundamentals of how to listen, find the hottest issue, turn that issue into a campaign, do a power analysis, develop some strategy, and move to action, you’ve become a living breathing threat to greed and hate. We need a lot more of that that.

  • We are on a mission to equip as many justice-seeking people with the essentials of how to do the thing and do it well. We do this through training, coaching and by creating pamphlets, books, podcasts, and videos that help organizers learn how to get it done and inspire a revival of the craft.
